Grandpa

McKay's dad came up from Dallas for a Desert Book banquet in Salt Lake City on Wednesday night, and then stayed the night at our home before he flew home the next afternoon. Tyler got to spend all morning with his Grandpa, and he wasted no time at all in showing off his cuteness in full force. He brought books to Grandpa, jumped on Grandpa's bed, and showed Grandpa his balloon (still the one from Best Buy - it's still kicking!). Tyler had such a good time. We miss our Texas family!

Reading Brown Bear, Brown Bear. Look at Tyler's face! We really need a full-time, live-in Grandpa.

Grandpa teaching Tyler about eyes and noses and mouths. What a fun morning!

Little Friends

While we were out running the other day, we were stopped at a crosswalk, and a guy who was waiting near us on his bike asked me and my friend Kristin if our boys were twins! I can kind of see where he's getting that idea.

Tyler loves pushing this car around after we get back in the mornings, and Adam is just happy to go for a ride!

New Toys!

With our old camera acting up, and it being so ugly outside, I haven't posted any pictures of our new car yet, so here it is:

After we totaled our Hyundai in December, we spent a few weeks between the semesters car shopping (using Aunt Judy and Uncle Delbert's car, they are wonderful!). We found our 2005 Grand Am up in Salt Lake City. It used to be a rental car, so it's really been taken care of.

And it has a fun spoiler too so we can pretend we're cool.

In addition to our new car, we also have joined the 21st century and bought a laptop! McKay is particularly enjoying it. I got a new toy too, a new camera! (Can you tell? I think these pictures look so much better!)

And as for Tyler, he got a balloon from the salesmen at Best Buy, and a day later, he's still ecstatic.

Big Band Dance!

Last Saturday, McKay and I went to a forties-style dance for an early Valentine's, and it was a blast. It was all World War II/Wartime themed. Synthesis played all night, and there were a few people who sang songs from the forties for us, like "Moon River" and "It Don't Mean a Thing" and "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy." I went a bit crazy getting myself all dolled up. McKay did try to find a pair of suspenders, so I wasn't the only one! There were also a LOT of very talented swing dancers there as well. I wish I had some pictures or better clips of them, it was amazing! McKay and I were one of the less coordinated couples, but we still had so much fun.

Here's Synthesis, the big band.

Some fun "advertisements" at our table.

Here's us all dolled up (okay, me all dolled up). You can't tell in this picture very well that I've got an awesome victory roll on the side of my hair, so I added a little clip where you can see it in motion (I need validation, I spent an hour on it!), and also a clip of the music. If you look on the right side of the clip, you can sort of see some of the swing dancers who were really good. They were the only ones brave enough to be up dancing while everyone else was sitting and enjoying the singing :)

I can't help adding this too: a couple of my friends and I went to a warehouse sale for Shade Clothing, and got everything for 75% off and even more! This was my loot!

Sledding!

We went sledding up in Provo Canyon on Saturday, and had so much fun. Well, McKay and I did. Tyler wasn't too fond of going down icy hills at break-neck speed on a piece of plastic. He did like walking in the snow, though, so everyone had a good time! I made a fun little movie for it.

The falls were gorgeous, half frozen but still flowing.
